Final Model

As you can see, I have applied my 'Ripple' custom texture onto the large concrete column, I thought that it was a great conflictual texture, something so large and strong such as concrete, to be textured in a material seen as soft and peaceful.

You can see here that i have textured Goodwin's stair well with my 'Bubble' Texture. I followed the idea of conflicting properties as with the ripple texture. Goodwin's Artwork I chose is very linear, in your face and mechanical so bubbles conflicts with these ideas and makes for a nice stair to walk down.

Because the artists studios are seperate I thought it to be a good idea to keep their exhibition spaces seperate also.

Something Beautiful

 

I took this photo whilst visiting my dad in Queensland over Christmas. The picture is of one of the shipwrecks at Tangalooma on Moreton Bay off the coast of Brisbane. The shipwrecks are located there especially for snorkeling and diving.

My Impression of Great Architecture

'Villa Mairea', 1937 -39 by Finnish Architect Alvar Aalto. 

Inspired by Frank Lloyd Wrights 'Falling Water', so much so, that Alvar Aalto tried to convince the clients to build over a running stream. I just love this design and many elements about it are reflected in contemporary residential design today. Image upload.wikimedia.org 04/03/2010
